I cannot think of a better thread to introduce myself to
Dinastias, than (the incomparable) Nellie's "Hello" one. Not only is it perfectly named, but it also highlights a royal lady who embodies everything that is right and true about the forum's main topic.
I am Maravilha, British by birth, American by emigration.
I have travelled to and lived in more lands than I can possibly count, and therefore have picked up many languages, including my soon-to-be-unveiled Spanish.
It is a pleasure to finally land in this forum, after having observed other similar ones lurkingly.
(One forum, which gathers "cotillas" together, seems to be a snake pit of rabid anti-monarchists with a special delight in critiquing the
zapatronchos of a certain Spanish
consuerte. Yet another, whose special topic is the Romanovs, is a gold mine of photographs, but fatigues one due to insipid replies and backhanded courtesies)
The key in Dinastias is not reverence for royalty, or thoughtless criticism either, but a mixture of sophistication and fun, which the word "civilised" suspiciously resembles.
If this means that I must trot out my ill-used Spanish in order to be a (miniscule) part of this forum, then I'm as game as Queen Mary working out on HMS Ophir.
P.S.: I have great teeth.
