Although she didn't mind when her daughters and son Juan tried to play "matchmaker" in Rome, when they "accidentally on purpose" invited the Queen to the cinema on the same evening as the King. The Queen had arrived first and was arranging her furs near the box office, when she saw the King approach (he, impeccably dressed with gloves and spats, as if going on a first date) and smile sheepishly at her.
The picture they saw has been lost to history, but Beatrice and Cristina repeated the "meeting" a few times without incident from their estranged parents.
