Guys, this is slightly OT, but I have always wanted to mention this delicate point and never had the chance before now:

The emoticon "rolling of eyes" :roll: is used differently by the Spaniards in the forum, as might be used by the English-speaking members. In our culture, rolling of eyes denotes exasperation with the person one is addressing, and isn't at all positive. It doesn't mean, as I think Spaniards use it (I've noticed elsewhere) ennui or sarcasm with the TOPIC at hand. For us, it's primarily used towards the person we address. So, you know, it could cause bad feeling if not explained.

Just a small difference, which at first startled me when I first saw it on the forum a year ago. (grin)

Oh, thanks for reminding me of that visit! I recall King George had a certain kind of snobbish delight in never having stepped on US soil. At least, this is what the Duke of Windsor writes in his memoirs (the Duke never let an opportunity go by without slamming the memory of his father).

But as you remind us, he and Queen Mary were not entirely foreign to the North American continent. :thumbup:
